Yamaha Arius YDP161 digital piano features an 88-note GH action and a keybed that combines real felt layers that dramatically reduce back stress to the players wrist and aids faster repetition or intensive practice.

It's first and foremost a piano, but the Yamaha Arius YDP161 digital piano also has 9 other sounds for you to choose from.

The Yamaha YDP161 digital piano has damper resonance and reverb that cleverly recreate the subtle sympathetic resonance you experience when playing an acoustic piano. Reverb enables you to recreate the ambience of a huge concert auditorium in your own living room.

Dual voice enables you to combine any 2 sounds together, for example piano and strings, or organ and choir, really adding colour to your performance.

A built-in metronome enables you to keep in time when practicing a new piece of music or scales, with the option of transmitting through headphones for when you want silent practice.

The Yamaha YDP161 digital piano's 2 track record feature lets you record 2 tracks of music independently and play them back together, or record one part in and practice the other part when playing it back, this is a really useful teaching tool.

The Yamaha Arius YDP161 digital piano includes 3 pedals with half pedal, meaning that subtle damping effects only previously available on acoustic instruments is now possible.

128-note poly - this means the number of notes that can sound at any one time. If the maximum quota is exceeded then the notes that are least audible are taken away not the first ones you played.

Don't hesitate to buy

I am just a beginner at using a piano but already I have checked out the tone, and because I am also a singer I am delighted with the sound of my piano. Lessons are taking place next week! Can't wait!
Because it is very heavy please make sure 2 people get it in the popsition you want and then just enjoy!

Positives: Excellent Craftsmanship, Great Sound, Great Intonation

Negatives:

Superb digital piano

I am learning the piano by using text books, the graded hammer keys are good for practising as they replicate a piano. Has a useful recording feature for when you are learning left and right handed playing. According to my local piano store, this model is quite hard to come by at the moment due to the tsunami in Japan, but i am very glad i got one!

Positives: Great sound, Good heavy keys, Stylish, Good volume control, Built in sounds as bonus, Contemporary design

Negatives: Self build
