Great phone for the money, I personally find Sony more stylish to look at than other makes.

Updates easily to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Excellent 'Droid Mobile...

I should start by confessing that I've been a fan of Sony/Ericsson mobiles since the companies joined up in the mobile market and I've owned a good few over the years.
This is easily the best and my favorite of all the mobile handets to date and the first since Sony decided to go it alone.
I tried the Xperia S but it was too big for my pocket and I couldn't warrent all that money for a mobile.
The U is reasonably slim, certainly slimmer than my previous Xperia Mini, and the 3.5 inch screen is just right for the uses that I put it to.
No need to get into the tech spec of this mobile but I would say that I was very dissapointed when I first got it that the usual SE indicator LED on the front is useless on this model. One of the things that had appealed to me before buying was the LED strip towards the bottom of the handset that, according to Sony, would be used to indicate missed texts, calls etc; no it doesn't!
It took me a while and a number of forums before I found an APP that WILL allow it to function as a missed text, call indicator and now the phone is perfect for me!

This phone is on par with any iphone or Blackberry I've ever seen. I use it mostly for calls, texts and social networking.
The only issue I have is the battery life, which could be resolved by buying another battery.
