Excelent buy

I bought this one to replace my old samsung. I was between this one and the Canon Cool Pix. After seening photos taken by my friends with both cameras, i went ahead with this one and I am so pleased I have done so

What a camera!

First, if you are reading this review you are looking at the right camera particularly if you want a camera that is full of amazing features and takes excellent photos and home videos...

Let me start by saying instructions are simple, no need to read a thick manual. If you enjoy playing with your gadgets and finding out things then this is the camera for you. If not then this camera may overwhelm you with the shooting options.
Shutter speed (& options) including the flash (& options) are excellent.
If you are a *Touch Screen person then you will enjoy using the TZ20. You will learn which *TS options you are "on" when wanting to "zoom-in, "take a photo" or "track a face". You have the ability to save 6 peoples faces in memory, so when u take a photo its knows that persons name. ;) Genius!!!

Shoots modes: Oh wow, there 10, yes I stated 10 selections. The one that I see many people will use will be MS1 & 2 since you can choice from many shooting options (environments) and this automatically sets the camera to that mode; Fireworks, underwater, Pet, dark light, soft face, outdoor day/night and many more,. For Pet you can even add your dogs name and birthday, now I have two dogs and have only been able to save one name. That does not bother me since this is a new feature and I happy with this ability.

The TZ20 even supports 3D shooting, I am yet to see this in 3D but the shooting style is very simple.
It also supports manual shooting mode for anyone who wants to change further setting.
HD movie mode is great with excellent audio, Panasonic have made the shoot movie "button" independent from the camera mode and this allows you to jump from photo to movie in one movement/depress the button. Once finished filming depress the button again and it writes to disk. Of course if the battery is almost flat you risk losing that video, normal rules apply with any portal video recording device.
Photo viewing is also below the camera mode button and not on the "Shooting Mode" selections making this a more manageable.

GPS enabled is brilliant as you will never need to type-in the location into your photos again or editing.
The zoom feels surreal because as you zoom in and out you don't feel it & the camera does not make a noise, only the object getting nearer. weird!

If you want a camera that has loads of functions then this is one for you.
I had my eye on this camera for a long time and I am glad I purchased this TZ20 from Panasonic.

Best camera for the price!

Bought this camera mainly because of the GPS tagging of photos. Works fantastically and the pictures are superb with excellent colour balance. The lens on this camera is brilliant with no discernible artefacts even when blowing them up.
