makes so much room for other things

this has made so much room in my house,i have all my cds and dvds in one place at last. it really looks good too. the shelves are sturdy, so hopefully won't dip with age.

The sliding shelves dont slide properly and have scraped the top runner, it should be plastic like the bottom runner. Spacing on sliders mean that you cant store dvds on all shelves, only alternate shelves. When you slide shelves there are always dvds that are behind that you cant access without taking out dvds beside them.

Absolutely terrible. The unit is not useable. Once put up, trying to use the sliding shelves is impossible! Because the upper sliding part has no wheels or plastic and just metal studs they drag through the wood instead of sliding.
Also when trying to access DVDs from behind the shelves, even when they are moved, some DVDs are still hidden and you have to reach behind and pull them out or they will never see the light of day!
Am sending it back!!!!

We use this in the lounge area.
It looks just the part however
Looks are not everything. The wood is hollow not solid. Lent on it and put hole in side panel. Lucky it's on inside panel. The top hinders the runners and is not a good design at all. The interior runner bar inside top is so soft that the sliding shelves do not run freely. This is likely to be more difficult when it is filled with DVDs/CDs.
Not a good buy really.
If your looking for a bargain, don't buy this. The overall quality is poor.

GREAT IDEA BUT NEEDS MORE THOUGHT

The amount of storage is fantastic. However the manufacturers need to review this product. On the bottom of the 2 slide shelves they have used runners and wheels but at the top it's just 2 metal pegs in each unit and a groove cut into the wood (no runner) so the slide action is not smooth at all. Sometimes it catches in the groove at the top if not careful. Also the back board needs to be flush with the back of the 2 movable shelves as dvds move out and get trapped (I think this is because the sliding action is not smooth,so causes vibration). If the top and bottom both had wheels this unit would be brilliant.

An ok purchase

This product is ok the assembly instructions are not good and rely on only diagrams for you to assemble so make sure you look at them carefully. One really bad thing about this product is that it is so hard to move the front shelves back and forth, this is because instead of having runners at the top of the unit like the bottom the this function relys on a groove in the wood at the top with two peice of metal sticking out of each case. To me this is a giant design floor as within minutes of having fitted the product together moving the front cases back and forth actually dammages the unit. In my opinon not a great purchase.

good attractive storage

Nice looking product and quite easy to assemble (mostly I did this myself only needing help to lift as it is heavy) However, not all joins met very well & I was dis-appointed that I couldn't get just DVDs on the CD/DVD rack as two shelves are CD sized only but does look attractive when full

easy 2 construct

great to construct, but onw side of the slider is slightly off, so i have to have the dvds on every other shelf on the sides, but other than that its brilliant, i have over 3000 dvds so this is great to get a lot in one place,

The product itself appears to be a good idea for anyone with a vast amount of DVDs and/or CDs. However, upon building it you begin to realise the design faults and that it is not what you expect for the price.
Given the price you expect something of good design and look. It is supposed to have 2 slideable shelves except the one I have you can only have 1 due to the poor fixings which have damaged my shelf entirely and cannot now be used.
The designers have gone to the trouble of putting good robust roller systems in place at the bottom of the shelves, however for the top rolling system they have chose to cut costs and put a groove in for a tiny piece of metal to slide along.
The groove is not even width all the way along and the metal is too short to grip anything. Thus meaning the system does not work as you need it too.
I would not recommend this product to anybody, instead I would look for an alternative from a different supplier with decent fixings.
