I have been using this reel regularly ( of which i have 2 )and " IT IS NOT AN OUT AND OUT CARP FISHING REEL THAT SOME PEOPLE ON HERE WANT ".
If you overload it with line Thicker than 8lbs it will sometimes snag ( i use a high quality braid which is perfect for up to 75yds casts ), you should also only fill it to within an 1/8inch or 3mm of the spool Lip. This is NOT a carp reel for Banging out 4 to 6 ounce weights with 12+ lbs Line , this is a Match Reel for Rods with a T/C OF NO MORE THAN 1.75LBS , check out other reviews in the Angling Press for this Reels usage.
Positives: Speed Match Fishing, Delicate Casting, Looks great, Accurate, Specialised Usage
Negatives: Not Really Robust, Cannot Be Over Powered, No Handle Option

design flaw

this product is flawed it is impossible to load the spool fully as you just get constant tangles.ive been fishing 30 years and this is genuinely the worst spool ive ever seen

I ordered 2 of these reels and on the second fishing trip, the free spool stopped working on one of the reels. Having sent it back and replaced with a new one, the free spool on the other reel stopped working on the 4th fishing trip!!!! I'm now expecting the new one to go too, there is clearly a manufacturing defect in these reels.....you have been warned.

Never have I experienced a reel that constantly tangles line like this one does. Line is repeatedly caught on the clip (yes the special ACS clip the manufacturer raves about), the spool, the handle.............just awful.
If that wasn't bad enough, the free spool feature stopped working the second time I used the reel, it's a load of old rubbish.

Unfortunately Reel is on its way back. Free Spool Mechanism failed to work straight out of the box. Never had this problem with Shimano and Daiwa. BEWARE!!!!.

This is the best feeder reel I have set my hands on. The ACS is an amazing design and works like a treat. Beats shimano,daiwa hands down and if your into your match fishing its perfect !!!

i use for mid-carping,mainly feeder/quiver tip fishing,though the spool drag on its lightest setting removes the spool,ive found the winder very direct,as in no play before movement/cranking the spool,off the baitrunner,can be quite stiff,im used to delicate reels,but i will get used to it/maybe loosen up,very well made reel,will give years of service.happy purchase,bit expensive though!

Negatives: No play in winder, Spool releases too easily, Baitrunner too linear, Spool drag heavy

very clever and simple idea

I brought this for quivertipping feeders and for fishing the Method on commercials , but i do like the ACS SYSTEM it is very accurate and will help on those long casts across large rivers too.
The reel is light and not overly sized that it will feel clumsy . It will be well balanced on rods from 11 to 13 foot.
Positives: Auto clip system, Good build quality, Very nice bag, Matt finish, Quality spools, Smooth and powerful, Innovative, Fail safe release
Negatives: Spools are same size, No single handle option
