This set is suitable from birth to 3 year approx and consists of a push chair, pram body, car seat, boot cover, rain cover and changing bag. The push chair has a height adjustable handle, self-aligning front wheels that can be fixed or swivel, 5-point safety harness, multi-position backrest, large removable fold-back hood, removable bumper bar and a large shopping basket. The car seat fits onto the push chair frame with fold-away clips, and is suitable from birth to 13kg, around 12 months. The car seat fits rearward facing in the car, and comes with a head support pillow, comfort sleeves on the 3-point harness, and a removable sun canopy.

Let down by one problem

In the main this is a really good value travel system. It's comfortable to push, not one of those pushchairs that you constantly feel you're going to tread on the brake as you walk. The handle height is really adjustable. It's comfortable for my partner who is over 6 ft, and also adjusts low enough for my 4 year old to push.

The carry cot and car seat easily fit onto the frame, and can easily and smoothly be removed. The instructions can be a bit tricky to follow as they only have diagrams, no words, especially when fixing the pushchair seat onto the frame. however this, unlike the carry cot/car seat, only needs putting on the once.

However, there is one problem which I find completely unacceptable. The car seat has a little button to press to loosen the shoulder straps. This button has a flap of fabric over it which is fastened with the really nasty, scratchy type of velcro. It's right where the baby rubs their legs around, and my son has had some really sore, raw scratches on his calfs. I find it unbelievable that Hauck would produce a car seat using velcro which is going to rub directly against a baby's sensitive skin and cause damage every time the baby sits in it.

Would I recommend to a friend? The pushchair, definitely. however, the carseat (and therefore this travel system) I would not.

Incidentally, were it not for the velcro problem with the car seat, in all other aspects I would have probably given this system 5 stars.
