This BBC comedy series follows loopy dentist Ben (Robert Lindsay) and his gastronomy-challenged wife, Susan (Zoe Wanamaker), as they raise three very different children - devoted loafer Nick (Kris Marshall), drama queen Janey (Daniela Denby-Ashe), and resident oddball Michael (Gabriel Thomson) - with loving distaste and mordant wit. All four series of the classic BBC historical comedy, as well as the 'Blackadder's Christmas Carol' and 'Blackadder Back and Forth' specials. The first series, 'The Blackadder', is set during the supposed reign of Richard IV (Brian Blessed). In series three, 'Blackadder the Third', Edmund Blackadder is now butler to the moronic Prince George (Hugh Laurie), and in Regency London he finds himself crossing paths with figures such as Samuel Johnson (Robbie Coltrane), the elusive Scarlet Pimpernel (McInnerny), and the violent Duke of Wellington (Fry). In series four, 'Blackadder Goes Forth', Edmund is now a captain in the British Army during the First World War, doing his best to avoid death at the hands of the Germans.
